All By Yourself: 3 Do-It-Yourself Projects for Fourth of July – Atlanta, GA

It’s been a couple of busy days for the city of Atlanta. Between the Hawks finally landing new ownership and with the Fourth of July right around the corner, it’s been pretty hectic.

Not to mention the NBA Draft is tonight. Fun all around!

But some of you may not care about that, and it’s fine. You’re probably still trying to figure out what to do for your Fourth of July party and how you’re going to go about decorating it. Why not go a different route? How about making the stuff yourself? Yeah, be a do-it-yourself patron this summer for your holiday party. It totally makes sense.

And for the creatively challenged, like me, I’ll try and make these as simple as humanly possible; but probably not so simple where I could make it look good at all. Here are some do-it-yourself projects for Fourth of July you can consider:

American Flag T-Shirts

There is a method to this. All you need is red, white and blue paint, and maybe some glitter for the girls. It doesn’t take a lot of brain power to make an American flag. Even if the stars might be tedious, you live and adapt. These T-shirt creations are great for all ages, and the best part is, you only have to wear them once a year. You now feel much better about this, I can tell.

Popsicle Stick Flag

Sticking with the flag theme, these are actually really easy to make but they require a lot of tedious gluing and some perfection. Because if you’re like me, you’ll start gluing the popsicle sticks and once looks crooked, you’ll throw them away and start over again. There’s also tedious painting, but no one is going to care if your flag somehow looks like the reincarnated version of John F. Kennedy.

Canned Flower Vase

Here’s all you need for this: Red, white and blue cloth or construction paper, some flowers and a can you’re not ready to recycle. Again, this can’t be that bad, even though I’d seriously screw this up in a heartbeat.

Hopefully these projects give you some, if any, leeway in how to handle your party decorations this summer. Your friendly McDonough Toyota dealership probably feels the exact same way, and want you to decorate your home during their Fourth of July Toyota sales near Atlanta. Why? You could possibly drive off as a brand new 2015 Toyota Camry owner with these limited-time deals. Decorate your home for Fourth of July, then get ready to decorate your garage with a beautiful new ride from Toyota of McDonough.
